Vedic astrology is a form of astrology that is 5000 years old.
Increasing numbers of Western astrologers are discovering the value of Vedic astrology. In the Western world interest for Vedic astrology is steadily growing.
Contents of the course: The course includes among other things, the interpretation of a Vedic horoscope, the role of harmonic horoscopes, the Indian system of predictive astrology (dasas), yogas in the horoscope, Vedic methods of treatment (choosing the (semi-) precious stone, colour and mantra), the relationship to ayurveda (how to determine the ayurvedic physical type from the horoscope).
These subjects are treated in fourteen extensive lessons.
Applied Indian Astrology: This course will enable you to understand Vedic astrology and what you can achieve with it. In the course, the accent is placed on the practical application of Indian astrology, hence the special attention to Vedic treatment methods and ayurveda.
- The material in the course is clearly laid out.
- The language used is simple and easy to understand.
- Every lesson contains assignments which will show the relationship between your own horoscope and the contents of the lesson.
- Work procedure: The assignments are to be returned either per post or email. Should you use email, you will receive an immediate reply containing the corrected assignments plus helpful remarks on your work.
- Personal support from the course supervisor: Should you have any questions regarding the subject matter, send an email and you will receive a prompt reply.
- Course results: Once you have finished the course you will be able to interpret a Vedic horoscope, apply Vedic predictive astrology and make the correct choice of Vedic treatment methods and ayurveda (deciding the physical type).
- The course includes: A handsome binder in which to keep your course and notes, the course material, your personal Vedic horoscope print-out and written corrections and guidance during the length of the course.
- Admission: to have some basic knowledge of (Western) astrology can be helpful. If you do not have basic knowledge of astrology you should do the primer course first. This is a small course for people who do not have knowledge of whatever form of astrology. It give you the knowledge to be able to start the course Applied Vedic Astrology. - Fee: Two payments of US $135. if the course can be sent as a Word attachment over the internet and you use email to send in your assignments. If you like the course material to be sent by regular mail the fee is two payments of US $190. The first payment to be made at the beginning of the Course. The second payment to be made between the 5th. and the 6th. lesson.
- If you pay the two terms together the total cost is $270 (course material sent over the internet) or US $380 (regular mail). Therefore you will receive a discount if you pay that way.
Course Supervisor
Phyllis Chubb M.A., C.A.P.
Phyllis is the Canadian and Western United States tutor for Dirah Academy International.
Phyllis has been studying Western Astrology since 1972 and Vedic Sciences since 1998. She holds the Certified Astrological Professional (C.A.P.) designation granted by the International Society for Astrological Research, Inc (ISAR). She is an experienced Clinical Counsellor, a full time Vedic practitioner/counsellor and teacher.
She is a member of the Council of Vedic Astrology (CVA), a member of ISAR. Phyllis has contributed number articles to various publications including The Jyotish Digest. She continues to run workshops in the practical application of Vedic Astrology and Consciousness.
She holds an BA in Psychology and an MA in Human Relations from Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada. Currently she continues her studies as a Jaimini Scholar under the direction of Pundit Sanjay Rath of the Sri Jagannath Center, New Delhi, India.
